The Sony Ericsson gets yet another exclusive game today as EA Sports brings FIFA 12 to the Xperia PLAY.  Using gameplay optimized specifically for the “Playstation Phone”, players can have the ability to play quick matches, daily challenges, or even get involved in cup tournament.  Whether your favorite player is Wayne Rooney, Kaka, or someone else, you’ll definitely love the soccer football experience that EA has provided over the years, especially with a familiar controller in your hands.

Other Sony Ericsson Android-powered smartphones are expected to see FIFA 12 as well, including Xperia arc S, Xperia arc, Xperia ray, Xperia neo and Xperia pro.

Here’s a live wallpaper that’s a little bit different than your probably used to, Steampunk Skull. Offered in both paid and free versions, this live wallpaper adds some edge to any tablet or smartphone and can be found in the Android Market.

At first I tried the free version and loved it so much that I decided to get the paid version that costs only $1.49. Both wallpapers feature the same image that you see above, a steampunk style skull with moving gears and lighting effects that all change with touch interaction. While looking at the wallpaper without touching your screen, the gears move at a slow constant pace and the light tube thing on the left produces an evenly glowing wavelength. Upon swiping left or right on the screen you will notice the gears change pace and the old school light bulb starts to flicker with an eerie glow, that’s my favorite kind of LW, the ones that change with touch interaction.

There are a few differences between the free and paid versions and the measly price of $1.49 is well worth the upgrade. The paid version allows for 6 different themes and has customization options that are not available on the free version. If you’re the type to frequently change your wallpaper than the paid version is probably for you. A simple double tap of the background will cycle through the themes and there is bound to be a color/gear combo to suit any mood. To check out this live wallpaper hit one of the links below. I suggest that you give the free version a spin and if you like it then support the developers and go with the paid.

How much cloud storage space do you need? 2GB? 5GB? Pah! Box.net scoffs at your puny storage needs, and plan to offer a substantial 50GB of free storage (again) for anyone packing a Sony Ericsson Android phone. While the plans have leaked ahead of schedule, the fine details haven’t been hammered out just yet; the official blog tells us that the company’s “working to provide this offer very soon to all Xperia customers.” When the offer does go live, logging in to (or creating) a Box.net account on any Xperia handset will open the floodgates to 50 gigs of intangible internet storage fo’ life. If this keeps up, it shouldn’t be long till we’re looking at gratis terabytes and are freed of our not-exactly-crippling USB stick addiction, right?

Update: Sony Ericsson’s not the only one getting gratis cloud storage — LG owners can snag 50GB for life, too. PR’s after the break.

SpeakEasy Input 2.99

Now free applications are what we review the most, but I wanted to take a second and recognize a developer friend of the site, James Gramata. James has written some really good programs for Android as a single man development team. FireWallet is one of his most downloaded applications both the free and the paid. SpeakEasy Input is an application that James released today, and he asked us to take a look at the application and let him know what we thought of it.

SpeakEasy Input can be downloaded from the market here.
